Dafne Keen Faces an Ancient Curse in Horror Movie Whistle Trailer
IFC and Shudder have shared the official trailer for Whistle, the supernatural horror thriller starring Dafne Keen (Deadpool and Wolverine). The movie is slated to arrive in theaters on February 6, 2026.
“A misfit group of unwitting high school students stumble upon a cursed object, an ancient Aztec Death Whistle. They discover that blowing the whistle and the terrifying sound it emits will summon their future deaths to hunt them down,” reads the movie’s official synopsis. “As the body count rises, the friends investigate the origins of the deadly artifact in a desperate effort to stop the horrifying chain of events that they have set in motion.”

What happens in the Whistle trailer?
The video features Keen as Chrys, the newest girl at school, who gets the attention of a group of misfits after she shares the ancient Aztec death whistle she found with them. The mysterious artifact is said to have the power to summon the dead. Due to their lack of belief, they ignorantly used the whistle, leading them to be cursed. The trailer also highlights some of the movie’s terrifying sequences.
Whistle hails from Corin Hardy, who is directing from a screenplay written by Owen Egerton. This marks the filmmaker’s directorial feature comeback in a long while, after previously directing the 2018 Conjuring spin-off The Nun. The ensemble cast also includes Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead), Sophie Nélisse (Yellowjackets), Percy Hynes White (Wednesday), Sky Yang (Last Days), Jhaleil Swaby (The Lake), Ali Skovbye (Breakthrough), Mika Amonsen (Thanksgiving), and more.
The R-rated movie is produced by David Gross, Macdara Kelleher, and Whitney Brown, with John Friedberg serving as an executive producer. The creative team consists of cinematographer Björn Charpentier, editor Nick Emerson, production designer Jennifer Spence, costume designer Leslie Kavanagh, and composer Doomphonic.
