Sadie Sink Found Out About Her MCU Casting in Surprising Way
Sadie Sink will make her MCU debut in Spider-Man 4 this summer. Sink’s casting has sparked endless rumors about who she might play. Ironically, Sink first found out about her involvement in Spider-Man on the internet.
How did Sadie Sink learn about her Spider-Man 4 casting?
Sink stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote the Stranger Things Season 5 finale. During the conversation, Fallon discussed Sink joining the cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Similar to Stranger Things, Spider-Man 4 has been extremely secretive, withholding major plot and character details.
“It’s torture. There’s so much speculation, too,” Sink said about her secretive Spider-Man 4 role. “I feel like there’s a new character every week. I tell people. The people I know.”
Speaking of online chatter, Sink revealed that the internet cast her in Spider-Man 4 before she even received the call from Marvel.
“I found out through online theories. Before I got cast, there was speculation online that said, ‘Sadie Sink is gonna be in the new Spider-Man,'” Sink explained. “I was like, ‘I am?’ Sure enough, two days later, they asked me to do it. So, yeah. Those theories, there’s sometimes some truth to it.”
Nothing has been confirmed about Sink’s role so far. Jean Grey has been the most persistent rumor as to who Sink will play in the MCU. The first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day could provide the answer to Sink’s mysterious character.
In Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Tom Holland returns for his fourth solo outing as Peter Parker. Holland will be joined by an ensemble that includes Sink, Zendaya as Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, and Marvin Jones III as Lonnie Lincoln/Tombstone.
Liza Colón-Zayas and Tramell Tillman have also been cast in undisclosed roles.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters on July 31, 2026.
