Adam Driver’s Underrated Sci-Fi Dinosaur Movie Coming to HBO Max

This new year, the expansive content library of HBO Max is all set to undergo a massive overhaul, welcoming all sorts of new titles in January 2026, including a host of science fiction films, along with several action classics. Among the new movies coming to the platform is an Adam Driver movie that will be of interest to fans of both sci-fi and action films.

Adam Driver’s 65 to stream on HBO Max in a few days

The Adam Driver-led sci-fi adventure movie 65 is coming to HBO Max later this month. Subscribers will be able to watch the film starting January 8, 2026.

Written and directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, the 93-minute high-octane feature revolves around the journey of an astronaut, played by Driver, who finds himself on a strange and hostile world. After his spaceship crash-lands on an unknown planet, the audience can deduce that the planet is actually prehistoric Earth, 65 million years in the past. With a young girl named Koa (Ariana Greenblatt), who is the only other survivor of the crash that brought him there, Driver’s character must figure out a way to escape and survive several encounters with a horde of deadly predators.

Though the film largely centers on just Driver and Greenblatt’s characters and their journey together, the film also has a small supporting cast, including Chloe Coleman and Nika King.

Released in theaters in 2023, the film had a relatively small impact on the box office, only garnering $32 million domestically, along with an international collection of $28.6 million, as per Box Office Mojo. The feature also recieved mixed-to-bad reviews from critics, with a 35% Tomatometer reading on Rotten Tomatoes. However, the Adam Driver movie seems to have fared much better with general audiences, earning a much better 64% Popcornmeter score on the review-aggregation website.
