Avengers: Doomsday’s third teaser is now playing in theaters
The third Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailer is now playing in theaters, and it revolves around Professor X (Patrick Stewart), Magneto (Ian McKellen), and Cyclops (James Marsden). The footage starts with dark shots of the X-Mansion, a shot of Professor X’s wheelchair, and a floating chess piece before cutting to Magneto and Professor X smiling at each other and holding each other’s hands.
It then concludes with a shot of Cyclops — with a muddied/bloodied face — removing his visor in rage and unleashing an optic blast as a Sentinel walks behind him. The background reveals that the X-Mansion has been destroyed and engulfed in flames.
In the teaser, Cyclops wears his classic, comic-accurate suit. This consists of a blue suit that spans his body and covers his chin, yellow underwear, a yellow utility belt, a yellow cross chest piece with the X-Men symbol, and a yellow visor.
In his appearances in 20th Century Fox’s X-Men films, Cyclops wore a black leather suit. Meanwhile, Tye Sheridan’s iteration of the character wore a black suit with padding in X-Men: Apocalypse, but came close to wearing a comic-accurate suit in Dark Phoenix via a navy blue suit with a big yellow X encompassing the shoulder and chest area.
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026. Anthony and Joe Russo are directing the film and are co-producing it via AGBO. Meanwhile, Stephen McFeely and Michael Waldron worked on the film’s screenplay.
Besides Stewart, McKellen, and Marsden, Doomsday will reportedly also feature other actors from the X-Men franchise like Kelsey Grammer, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, and Channing Tatum.
