A popular action-thriller film starring Nicolas Cage will be leaving Netflix soon. Face/Off, helmed by storied action movie director John Woo and also starring John Travolta, is one of the many film titles leaving the platform next month. Originally released in 1997, the film has developed a cult following over the years.

The Nicolas Cage movie Face/Off is leaving Netflix on January 19, 2026, according to What’s on Netflix. Accordingly, fans have 20 days to catch the film before it leaves the streaming service. The action-thriller is one of five film and television titles leaving Netflix that day. The other four titles are Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta, The Hill, The Open House, and The Sea Beyond.
Face/Off became well-known for its stylized action sequences as well as Cage and John Travolta’s performances, earning $245.6 million at the global box office (via Box Office Mojo).
Moreover, the film earned multiple awards and award nominations, including a 1997 Jury Grand Prize at the Sweden Fantastic Film Festival and an Oscar nomination for Best Sound Effects Editing.

Face/Off follows FBI agent Sean Archer (Travolta), who assumes the identity of a notorious terrorist, Castor Troy (Cage), via facial transplant surgery to foil a bombing plot. Unfortunately for Archer, Troy assumes his identity via the same process and sets out to ruin his life. Consequently, a cat-and-mouse game with layers of deception begins between the two.
John Woo directed Face/Off from a script written by Mike Werb and Michael Colleary. Besides Travolta and Cage, Face/Off also stars Joan Allen, Alessandro Nivola, Gina Gershon, Dominique Swain, Nick Cassavetes, Harve Presnell, and Colm Feore, among many others.
