Prime Video Adds 2 Marvel Movies From 2000s Today
Two classic Marvel movies are officially out now on Prime Video, letting fans check out two of the most beloved movies predating the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
What Marvel movies are available on Prime Video now?
1998’s Blade and its sequel, 2002’s Blade II, are available now on Prime Video. The films star Wesley Snipes in the titular role of Blade, the human-vampire hybrid hero that devotes his time to hunting vampires.
The original film was directed by Stephen Norrington and written by from a script written by David S. Goyer. The sequel was also written by Goyer, and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Guillermo del Toro. Both movies were well received, with Snipes’ portrayal of Blade lasting as one of the most beloved adaptations of a comic book character to date.
Snipes would go on to reprise his role as Blade in 2024, when he appeared in Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine. Marvel Studios originally announced that a Blade movie was in development at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2019. Mahershala Ali is attached to star as the titular character, while the cast also includes Goth; however, the project has had a hard time getting off the ground as the script has gone through a number of different iterations since it was originally announced.
At this time, the new Blade movie does not have a release date from Marvel. No director is attached to the project. Two other versions of Blade — Snipes in Deadpool & Wolverine and Todd Williams as Blade Knight in Marvel Zombies — have appeared in the MCU since the movie was originally announced.
