Prime Video Adds 2025’s Funniest Movie Today

Prime Video has now become the newest streaming home of one of the highest-rated comedy movies of 2025. This comes nearly seven months after Paramount Pictures’ Liam Neeson-led action comedy was first released in theaters, where it received a worldwide gross of over $102 million at the box office.

Beginning today, Neeson’s The Naked Gun movie is now officially available for streaming on Prime Video. It serves as a reboot sequel to Leslie Nielsen’s original Police Squad franchise. During its theatrical run, the film received positive reviews from critics. It currently holds a Certified Fresh rating of 87% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 334 reviews.

The Naked Gun was directed and executive produced by Akiva Schaffer of The Lonely Island comedy group, who has been attached to helm the reboot since 2022. The cast also included Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, CCH Pounder, Kevin Durand, Cody Rhodes, Liza Koshy, Eddie Yu, and Danny Huston. Schaffer also co-wrote the screenplay with Dan Gregor and Doug Mand. It was also produced by Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins for Fuzzy Door, with Daniel M. Stillman, Pete Chiappetta, Anthony Tittanegro, and Andrew Lary executive producing.
