Underrated Jason Statham Action Movie Comes to Netflix Today

Netflix is getting new content today, adding one of Jason Statham’s newest action movies to its large catalog of movies.

Wrath of Man, the 2021 action thriller film starring Statham, is available now on Netflix. Alongside Statham, Wrath of Man also stars Holt McCallany, Jeffrey Donovan, Josh Hartnett, Laz Alonso, Raúl Castillo, DeObia Oparei, Eddie Marsan, and Scott Eastwood. The film is loosely based on the 2004 French film Cash Truck, which was directed by Nicolas Boukhrief.

The movie follows the story of H (Statham), a cash-truck driver in Los Angeles who thwarts a robbery. However, his actions throw his past into question, and the film then dives into his past and what’s led him up to the moments ahead of the robbery.

The movie was originally released in 2021 and received relatively mixed reviews from critics. However, the film was a box office success and earned more than $100 million at the global box office against a budget of only $40 million. The movie was also Statham and Ritchie’s fourth collaboration.

Across their careers, Statham and Ritchie have collaborated on five movies, with a sixth, Viva La Madness, in the works. Previously, Statham has starred in a number of Ritchie’s most successful films, including Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, and Revolver.
