4 Epic Tom Cruise Action Movies Stream on Prime Video Soon

Four massively successful action movies starring Tom Cruise will soon be available for streaming on Prime Video. Mission: Impossible, Mission: Impossible 2, Mission: Impossible III, and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol will be coming to the streaming platform early next year.

Mission: Impossible 1, 2, 3, and Ghost Protocol debut on Prime Video in January 2026

Mission: Impossible, Mission: Impossible 2, Mission: Impossible III, and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol will all start streaming on Prime Video on January 1, 2026. Based on the popular TV series of the same name, the first film was originally released in 1996. The second movie followed in 2000, the third one in 2006, and the fourth in 2011. There are also four more entries in the franchise: Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation (2015), Mission: Impossible – Fallout (2018), Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One (2023), and Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning (2025).

Some of the biggest directors working in Hollywood have helmed these movies. Brian De Palma directed the first film, with John Woo taking over the directorial duties for the second. J. J. Abrams directed the third movie, and Brad Bird helmed Ghost Protocol. All of the films did considerably well at the box office, though critical reactions have varied from film to film. Ghost Protocol remains one of the most highly rated Mission: Impossible movies on Rotten Tomatoes with a 93% approval rating from 246 reviews.

The plot of the franchise revolves around Cruise’s character, Ethan Hunt, a highly-skilled field operative working for a secret government agency known as the Impossible Missions Force (IMF). As well as starring, Cruise also served as producer on all of the Mission: Impossible movies. Cruise also shares the screen in the first four films with stars such as Jon Voight, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Laurence Fishburne, and Jeremy Renner.
