What Ana de Armas and Sydney Sweeney movie is out on Netflix now?
Eden, Ron Howard’s 2024 historical survival thriller, is officially out on Netflix now. The movie features a star-studded cast as well. Outside of Sweeney (Euphoria) and de Armas (Ballerina), Eden also stars Jude Law (The Order), Vanessa Kirby (The Fantastic Four: First Steps), Daniel Brühl (All Quiet on the Western Front), Richard Roxburgh (Van Helsing), and Toby Wallace (Babyteeth).
“Set between the two World Wars, the film unravels the shocking true story of a group of disillusioned Europeans who abandon civilization, convinced that society is corrupting humanity’s true nature,” reads the official synopsis. “Seeking paradise, they settle on a remote, uninhabited island in the Galapagos—only to discover that the greatest threat isn’t the brutal climate or deadly wildlife, but each other. As tensions spiral and desperation takes hold, a twisted power struggle unfolds, leading to betrayal, violence, and the chilling, still-unsolved deaths of half the colony.”
Eden is directed and produced by Howard from a screenplay written by Noah Pink, based on a story by Pink and Howard. The movie is inspired by and based on the true story of several European settlers who isolated themselves on Floreana Island in the Galápagos Islands, Ecuador. Prior to its production, the acclaimed filmmaker had developed the project for over a decade.
The film is produced by Brian Grazer and Karen Lunder for Imagine Entertainment, Stuart Ford for AGC Studios, William M. Connor, and Patrick Newall. Executive producers are Miguel Palos, Zach Garrett, Craig McMahon, Noah Pink, Mathias Herndl, Namit Malhotra, David Taghioff, Masha Magonova, and Matt Murphie. In addition, this also marks the tenth collaboration between composer Hans Zimmer and Howard.
