Mark Hamill Not Recognized by Fans Despite Standing on His Own Walk of Fame Star
It’s not every day that one can come across Mark Hamill in the streets. However, the Star Wars star recently stood near his Hollywood Walk of Fame star in front of the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles, only to not be recognized by anyone.

Jimmy Kimmel recently did a hilarious experiment where he asked veteran actor Mark Hamill to stand by his Hollywood Walk of Fame star to see how many people recognized him on the streets. Given that the actor has played the iconic role of Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise, it is reasonable to expect a few fan moments. However, the results were the opposite.
The Child’s Play actor stood there with a plain t-shirt, jeans, a jacket, a pair of glasses, and a cap on as he greeted passersby and asked them to click a photo of him. To his dismay, very few agreed. Those who did failed to recognize him.
The Sandman actor then joked to two men as they passed by, pointing at his own star on the ground. He said, “Do you know this guy died today? I read on the internet that he was in a jetski accident.” The two then spent time on their phone to verify the news, but since nothing turned up, they dismissed it and moved on.
It became more funny and ironic when a cosplayer dressed as Darth Vader passed by and didn’t recognize him. Hamill noticed the cosplayer and said, “Dad, I told you, don’t follow me at work.” Despite the interaction and looking right at his face, the cosplayer didn’t recognize the Star Wars alum.
The actor then changed his strategy and wore a T-shirt with his face and name on it. Although this caught the attention of one woman, she claimed that she didn’t know who Hamill was. When she asks him, “Are you really not Mark Hamill?” the actor responds, “I’m really not.”
Nonetheless, she took a photo with him and walked away. Meanwhile, her brother, who’s on the phone with her, said, “That’s totally Mark Hamill.”
