Leonardo DiCaprio Explains Why He Hasn’t Seen Titanic, Talks Bad Acting Habits

Leonardo DiCaprio has never seen the biggest movie of his career, Titanic.

Why has Leonardo DiCaprio never watched Titanic?

During Variety and CNN’s Actors on Actors, DiCaprio sat down with his Don’t Look Up co-star Jennifer Lawrence for a wide-ranging conversation about their careers. During the discussion, Lawrence asked DiCaprio if he had ever rewatched Titanic. Not only has he never rewatched James Cameron‘s epic movie, but DiCaprio has never watched it, period.

“No,” DiCaprio said. “I haven’t seen it before.”

When asked why, DiCaprio said he doesn’t watch his movies. Regardless of whether he watches them or not, DiCaprio is widely regarded as one of the best actors of his generation. Even for someone as accomplished as DiCaprio, he still has a few things he’d like to change about his process.

“I think I shoot out a lot of ideas that are sometimes unnecessary,” DiCaprio explained when asked about his bad habits as an actor. “Like a shotgun spray of anything that comes to mind.”

Ever since Titanic, DiCaprio has been on Hollywood’s A-list and remains one of the last true movie stars. The 51-year-old is a seven-time Academy Award nominee, winning Best Actor for 2016’s The Revenant. DiCaprio is poised to receive his eighth Oscar nomination for his work in One Battle After Another. Paul Thomas Anderson‘s action thriller is also one of the favorites to win Best Picture.

DiCaprio has several exciting projects on his slate. DiCaprio will reunite with Lawrence on What Happens at Night, based on the ghost novel by Peter Cameron. Martin Scorsese will direct from a screenplay by Patrick Marber. Filming is expected to begin in early 2026. Apple Original Films is in talks to finance and produce the movie.

DiCaprio is also in discussions to team with Michael Mann on Heat 2. Serving as the sequel to the 1995 movie Heat, Heat 2 is based on the crime novel by Mann and Meg Gardiner. Christian Bale is reportedly in talks to star alongside DiCaprio. Directed by Mann, Heat 2 is rumored to begin shooting in the summer of 2026.
