Paul Rudd Has Just 2 Words To Say About Avengers: Doomsday
Paul Rudd recently gave what he called “the most boring answer” to a question about Avengers: Doomsday and his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Rudd made his debut in the MCU as Scott Lang / Ant-Man with the 2015 feature Ant-Man. His casting in Doomsday was announced back in March 2025, alongside the returns of more than 20 other Marvel stars.

Paul Rudd briefly spoke about Avengers: Doomsday during an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of his new film Anaconda. When asked what word he would use to describe what was in store in his Avengers return, Rudd said, “It’s exciting.” He added, “I mean, that’s like the most boring answer I could have possibly given you. And I am giving it to you. Take it, do with it what you will.”
Avengers: Doomsday is one of the most highly anticipated movies coming out next year. New rumors claim that multiple trailers for the movie will debut weekly with the screening of Avatar: Fire and Ash. Accordingly, fan interest in the movie remains high.
Since his debut in the MCU, Rudd has become one of the most familiar faces of the franchise. He has appeared in Captain America: Civil War (2016), Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023). Rudd also voiced his character in certain episodes of the Disney+ animated shows What If…? and Marvel Zombies.
Anthony Russo and Joe Russo are directing Avengers: Doomsday from a script by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely. Besides Rudd, the film’s massive cast includes Robert Downey Jr. as Victor von Doom / Doctor Doom, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm / Invisible Woman, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson / Captain America, and Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier / Professor X, among many others. Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to debut in theaters on December 18, 2026.
