Gwyneth Paltrow responds to Avengers: Doomsday return question
During her recent appearance on ABC’s Good Morning America, Gwyneth Paltrow faced a question from co-anchor George Stephanopoulos about her return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) after Avengers: Endgame. With the next Avengers installment set for a December 2026 release, and the first look at the film just around the corner, fans are now ready to get their hands on any kind of information related to the highly anticipated film.
Towards the end of Paltrow’s interview, Stephanopoulos asked the actress about the possibility of a return in Avengers: Doomsday. Paltrow smiled cheekily and responded, asking, “Avengers: Doomsday? What’s that?” Co-anchor Robin Roberts then remarked, “Oh, you know…She’s playing it on. Everybody in the Marvel Universe, they do that,” followed by Stephanopoulos explaining that they’re obligated to ask. Paltrow further added, “I don’t know. I’ve never… I’m not sure I’ve heard of that one.”
Paltrow first appeared in the MCU as Tony Stark’s partner, Pepper Potts, in Iron Man (2008). She then went on to play the character in Iron Man 2, The Avengers, Iron Man 3, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. Meanwhile, Marvel did not confirm her appearance in the upcoming Avengers installment during the cast reveal earlier this year.
The Great Expectations actress will soon appear alongside Timothée Chalamet in Marty Supreme, officially coming out in the U.S. on December 25, 2025. She takes on the role of Kay Stone in the film directed by Josh Safdie. The cast also includes Odessa A’zion, Kevin O’Leary, Ronald Bronstein, and Abel Ferrara, among others.
