Killer Whale Trailer Previews Terrifying Virginia Gardner Horror Movie
Lionsgate has released the official trailer for Killer Whale, the upcoming suspense horror movie starring Virginia Gardner (Halloween, Fall). It is scheduled to make its debut on January 16, 2026, in theaters and on digital platforms.
“Hold your breath as you witness revenge rise from the deep. After a life-shattering tragedy, Trish tries to comfort her best friend, Maddie, by taking her on a spectacular adventure in a private lagoon halfway across the world,” reads the official synopsis. “Their peaceful retreat soon becomes a terrifying fight to stay alive when the ocean’s most bloodthirsty predator seeks vengeance for a brutal life in captivity.

What happens in the Killer Whale trailer?
The video features two best friends, whose adventure in paradise suddenly turns into a nightmare. While enjoying swimming in a private lagoon, they are suddenly attacked by a bloodthirsty orca. Now, they must find a way to escape the whale and survive its attacks. The trailer also offers a glimpse at some of the movie’s thrilling sequences.
Killer Whale hails from director Jo-Anne Brechin, who co-wrote the screenplay with Katharine E. McPhee. The cast also includes Mel Jarnson as Trish, Mitchell Hope as Josh, Mia Grunwald as Dana, Aliandra Calabrese, Isaac Crawley as Chad, and more. The R-rated movie is executive-produced by Barry Brooker, Mike Gray, Phil Hunt, Jip Panosot, Jerome Reygner-Kalfon, Compton Ross, Sebastien Semon, and Stan Wertlieb.
Producers are Lionel Hicks, Steve Jaggi, and Kylie Pascoe. The creative team consists of cinematographer Shing-Fung Cheung, editor Ahmad Halimi, composer Angela Little, production designer Brad Diebert, costume designer Andrew Cox, and set decorator Tania Marino.
