Bob Odenkirk Stars in Action Movie Normal Trailer

Magnolia Pictures has released the first trailer for Normal, the upcoming action movie starring Better Call Saul’s Bob Odenkirk. Normal is set to release in theaters on April 17, 2026.

“For Sheriff Ulysses (Odenkirk), his provisional posting to the quaint Midwestern American town of Normal was meant to be a welcome respite from both his marital woes and recent moral injuries in the line of duty,” reads the film’s official synopsis. “But when a botched bank robbery interrupts the municipality’s tranquil pace, a dark secret is inadvertently exposed, and Ulysses soon discovers that the town is anything but its namesake.”

What happens in the Normal trailer?

The trailer takes us to the town of Normal, a quiet town where friendly faces abound and everyone knows each other. The movie then follows the story of Sheriff Ulysses, who is thrust into a mysterious, chaotic situation where he has to fight to protect the town after a botched bank robbery.

The film, which comes from director Ben Wheatley and John Wick creator Derek Kolstad. Alongside Odenkirk, Normal also stars Henry Winkler, Lena Headey, Ryan Allen, Billy MacLellan, Brendan Fletcher, Peter Shinkoda, and Jess McLeod. The film was written by Kolstad, with Odenkirk also getting a “story by” credit on the film. Producers on the project include Marc Provissiero, Kolstad, and Odenkirk.

Odenkirk is no stranger to action movies over the past few years. After enjoying a legendary acting career in the world of comedy and drama, Odenkirk broke out into the world of action movies with 2021’s Nobody, which received a sequel in 2025.
