Though Disney has not officially announced Zootopia 3, the second movie’s co-director, Jared Bush, has already expressed his interest in casting a Hollywood A-lister in a potential threequel. Jared Bush wants to cast Keanu Reeves in Zootopia 3
Zootopia 2’s co-director Jared Bush recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to thank fans for going to theaters and watching Zootopia 2. When one X user asked Bush to name an actor he would want to cast in Zootopia 3, either in a main role or as a cameo, the filmmaker responded, “I’m a huge John Wick fan. And my son has begged me to ask Keanu Reeves to play an assassin named ‘The Baba Llama’ – and I can’t imagine a better cameo!”
At the time of this article’s composition, Disney has not confirmed Reeves’ involvement in any Zootopia project.
The first Zootopia movie, directed by Byron Howard and Rich Moore from a script by Bush and Phil Johnston, premiered in 2016. It earned over a billion dollars at the global box office and currently has an impressive 98% approval rating on the review-aggregating site Rotten Tomatoes after 298 reviews. Bush penned the screenplay for the second movie and directed the film with Howard. Zootopia 2 debuted in November 2025 and has already surpassed the first movie at the box office.
The voice cast of Zootopia 2 includes Ginnifer Goodwin as Judy Hopps, Jason Bateman as Nick Wilde, Ke Huy Quan as Gary De’Snake, Fortune Feimster as Nibbles Maplestick, Andy Samberg as Pawbert Lynxley, David Strathairn as Milton Lynxley, Shakira as Gazelle, Idris Elba as Chief Bogo, Danny Trejo as Jesús, and Nate Torrence as Benjamin Clawhauser.
