Michael B. Jordan Reveals How New Thomas Crown Affair Movie Will Be Different
Sinners star Michael B. Jordan has finally opened up about his upcoming remake of The Thomas Crown Affair, which serves as his next directorial project after 2023’s Creed III. Amazon MGM Studios will be releasing the movie in theaters on March 5, 2027.
How will Michael B. Jordan’s Thomas Crown Affair movie be different from previous versions?
In a recent interview with Deadline, Jordan shared the reason why his new version of The Thomas Crown Affair will be different from the original Steve McQueen-led movie and Pierce Brosnan’s 1999 remake. Even though his upcoming remake will retain the “same sexiness and thrills” as the previous versions, the Black Panther star promised that the new adaptation will feature “greater stakes, twists and turns.”
The upcoming art heist movie is written by Drew Pearce and Wes Tooke, based on a story by the original movie’s writer, Alan Trustman. Besides Jordan, the remake will also star Adria Arjona, Lily Gladstone, Kenneth Branagh, and Danai Gurira. It is produced by Jordan and Elizabeth Raposo for Outlier Society, along with Patrick McCormick and Marc Toberoff. Trustman has also signed on as an executive producer.
For his dual performance in Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, Jordan recently earned his first Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Drama Motion Picture. Following the success of the period vampire movie, Jordan will next be seen in another high-profile horror movie: I Am Legend 2, which will see the return of Will Smith’s character from the 2007 post-apocalyptic thriller movie. He’s also currently attached to star in a Miami Vice movie from Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski.
