The Hunger Games’ Tom Blyth Stars in Prison Movie Wasteman Trailer
Lionsgate has released the official trailer for Wasteman, the upcoming crime thriller led by Tom Blyth (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes) as Dee and David Jonsson (The Long Walk) as Taylor. The film had its world premiere at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival. It will arrive in UK theaters on February 20, 2026. At the moment, the movie has no U.S. release date yet.

What do we know about Lionsgate’s Wasteman movie?
“Taylor is branded a ‘wasteman’ by society, his family, and in prison. In a world of parties, gangs, and violence, he’s managed to keep out of trouble. However, with the arrival of chaotic cellmate Dee, the chance to make early parole and get his life back is put in jeopardy,” reads the movie synopsis (via Rotten Tomatoes).
Wasteman is directed by Cal McMau, with Hunter Andrews and Eoin Doran writing the screenplay. This marks McMau’s feature directorial debut. The cast also includes Neil Linpow as Robby, Alex Hassell as Paul, Corin Silva as Gaz, Keaton Ancona-Francis as Stu, Layton Blake as Maxi, Paul Hilton as Browning, and more. The movie is produced by Sophia Gibber and Myles Payne.
Executive producers are Andrews, Jonsson, Philip Barantini, Samantha Beddoe, Sonny Gill, Sophie Green, Stephen Kelliher, Tim Macready, David Staniland, Duncan Western, and Sam Williams. The creative team includes cinematographer Lorenzo Levrini, composer Forest Swords, production designer Phoebe Platman, costume designer Lauren Miller, editor Ryan Morrison, and editor James Demetriou.
