Avengers: Doomsday’s Black Panther Storyline Teased by MCU Actor
Black Panther star Letitia Wright has potentially revealed some story details about Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday is currently in post-production. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers, the movie arrives in United States theaters in just a little over a year. The sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, then follows in December 2027.
What did Letitia Wright potentially reveal about Avengers: Doomsday & Secret Wars?
Wright shared a picture of the Black Panther: Doomwar comic, which features Shuri, Doctor Doom, and Namor on the cover. While this isn’t confirmation that Avengers: Doomsday is adapting or will incorporate story elements from Doomwar, all three of these characters will be in Doomsday, and it could provide a potential hint as to what Shuri and Namor’s roles in the MCU movie may be.

A description of the Black Panther: Doomwar trade paperback reads, “As a new Black Panther struggles to hold her country together against a backdrop of betrayal, she is set on a collision course with one of the Marvel Universe’s most feared and powerful despots! But when Doctor Doom stands triumphant, war in Wakanda will pit the world’s most relentless super villain against a collection of the world’s most powerful super heroes. With the mutant Storm’s life in the balance, it will take the combined forces of the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, Deadpool, and not one but two Black Panthers to stand against Doom! As T’Challa makes his return to his former kingdom, will Shuri retain her title and throne long enough to once again face Klaw, master of sound?”
Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday will be released on December 18, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU. Avengers: Secret Wars is dated for December 17, 2027.
