The Demon Slayer film, which is the first part of a trilogy, witnessed massive success worldwide. It is directed by Haruo Sotozaki and produced by the renowned Japanese animation studio Ufotable.

The Infinity Castle movie becomes the first anime movie from the popular publisher Shonen Jump, which has been nominated for the prestigious award, Best Animated Motion Picture. Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is going to compete with other animated movies like Elio, Kpop Demon Hunters, Arco, Little Amélie or the Character of Rain and the recently released Zootopia 2.

While the Infinity Castle movie is the first anime movie from the Shonen Jump to be nominated, there have been other Japanese anime movies in the past that have received a Golden Globe nomination.

In 2018, the anime film Mirai was nominated for a Golden Globe. However, it lost to the blockbuster film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Moreover, Hayao Miyazaki’s The Boy and the Heron was nominated for a Golden Globe in late 2023. It also won the Best Animated Feature Film award.

Following its release in the US on September 12, 2025, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle opened with a collection of $70 million. It made over $134 million at the domestic market and $634 million at the international box office. Thus, taking its total to $768 million, according to Box Office Mojo.

Additionally, the movie got a near-perfect score of 98 percent on the Tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes based on critic reviews. It even earned the same score on the Popcornmeter based on audience reviews.
