Venom Co-Creator Has Great Idea for MCU’s Tom Hardy Replacement
The co-creator of Marvel Comics’ Venom has an actor in mind should the character ever make another appearance in a movie.
Who did Venom’s co-creator say would make a good Eddie Brock?
In a recent post on social media, X user, voice actor, and content creator “TheDoctorX11” revealed that they had spoken to Venom co-creator David Michelinie — who is also credited as the co-creator of Carnage, Ant-Man, and War Machine — who was asked about the potential of Reacher star Alan Ritchson as Eddie Brock.
In a surprise response, Michelinie revealed that Ritchson is someone he’d previously said would make a great Eddie Brock. “I once posted pics of Ritchson—shirtless and one of him yelling—and said he’d make the perfect Eddie/Venom. So we’re on the same page,” noted Michelinie.
Brock has appeared in a litany of live-action projects for Marvel, most notably in the latest Venom film series where he was played by Tom Hardy. Previously, he was also played by Topher Grace in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3. With Hardy and his time as Venom likely over following 2024’s Venom: The Last Dance, it’s unknown what the future holds for the character.
Rumors have circulated that Venom could make an appearance in future Spider-Man projects for Marvel Studios. Hardy has expressed desire to potentially one day appear alongside Tom Holland’s Spider-Man/Peter Parker in a movie, but it’s unclear if that’ll ever happen as of now.
