DC & Snyderverse Fans React to Netflix Winning Warner Bros. Sale

Netflix has finally commenced closing the deal with Warner Bros. Discovery Inc., winning the bid to acquire the film and TV studios and HBO Max streaming service, which includes the rights to Snyderverse films. Since the time James Gunn took over as the DC Studios co-CEO, a section of fans has rallied to restore the Snyderverse. Now, with Netflix’s acquisition of the IP, fans hope there may actually be a chance.

Fans rally to restore the Snyderverse as Netflix wins Warner Bros. Bid

As per the latest update, Netflix has won the bid to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery Inc.’s film and TV studios and HBO Max streaming service.

A report by Bloomberg further states that Netflix offered a $5 billion breakup fee if regulators don’t approve the deal. Others like Paramount Skydance Corp. and Comcast Corp. were also in this race, but Netflix has won the race with an $827 billion offering.

Bloomberg analysts commented, “Netflix may be the front-runner in the race for Warner Bros., ahead of Paramount and Comcast. A $30-per-share bid implies a steep equity valuation of $75 billion for Warner’s assets. A combined base of about 450 million subscribers would trigger significant antitrust concerns, though Netflix is trying to ease regulators by arguing the deal would lower consumer prices through bundling.”

But what has fascinated fans the most in this deal is the prospect of bringing back the Snyderverse, something many have wanted for a long time. Soon after the news of Netflix potentially entering a deal with WB emerged, fans started speculating about resurrecting the Snyderverse on social media platforms.

One X (formerly Twitter) user posted a picture of a quote by Zack Snyder, where he said that he would continue the Snyderverse if Netflix owned the rights. They wrote, “Netflix has the chance to do the funnest thing ever.”

Another user added, “There’s a high possibility that Netflix will restore the Snyderverse.” Yet another user wondered, “SnyderVerse restored?”

However, even though the deal has gone through, it will be unlikely that Netflix will bring back the Snyderverse. This is because DC has already moved forward with the rebooted universe. Nevertheless, fans are still hopeful there will be a chance that did not exist before.
