28 Years Later: The Bone Temple has released a new trailer and poster ahead of the movie’s premiere. The new trailer is 2 minutes and 19 seconds long and prominently features Ralph Fiennes’ Dr. Ian Kelson. Jack O’Connell also appears as the dangerous cult leader Jimmy Crystal.
Meanwhile, the poster features a ghostly figure, possibly Dr. Kelson, standing in front of Kelson’s bone monuments, with fire in the background.
The official logline for 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple reads, “Dr. Kelson finds himself in a shocking new relationship – with consequences that could change the world as they know it – and Spike’s encounter with Jimmy Crystal becomes a nightmare he can’t escape.” Nia DaCosta (The Marvels) directed the movie from a script by Alex Garland.
Besides the actors mentioned above, the cast also includes Alfie Williams as Spike, Erin Kellyman as Jimmy Ink, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Jamie, Chi Lewis-Parry as Samson, and Emma Laird as Jimmima. Additionally, Cillian Murphy, who portrayed Jim in 28 Days Later, is reprising his role.
28 Days Later originally came out in 2002 and was a considerable critical and commercial success, leading to the development of several movies that followed. 28 Weeks Later premiered in 2007, and 28 Years Later in 2025. Danny Boyle, who helmed the first movie, also directed 28 Years Later. He will also reportedly direct the untitled fifth movie in the series. Garland scripted the first, third, and fourth movies, and will pen the fifth one as well.
28 Years Later: The Bone Temple debuts in US theaters on January 16, 2026.
