Kill Bill Prequel & Animated Movie Could Happen, Says Quentin Tarantino
Quentin Tarantino teased several potential projects, including a Kill Bill origin story and an animated movie featuring two of his iconic characters.
Tarantino is back in the Kill Bill universe with The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge, a concept from the original script that was cut from the movie. The action-packed adventure is now viewable in Fortnite.
While promoting Yuki’s Revenge, Tarantino was asked if he would make another Kill Bill project. As it turns out, Tarantino already has an idea for a prequel movie. Whether it gets made will depend on his schedule.
What did Quentin Tarantino say about his Kill Bill prequel & animated movie?
“I’ve got other things to do right now, but I had a whole Kill Bill idea in my mind when we were doing it, and then I was so wiped out from doing the movie,” Tarantino said via Pop Culture News. “I like the idea of a Bill origin. A story of Bill, about how Bill became Bill and the three godfathers that made Bill: Esteban Vihaio, Pai Mei, and Hattori Hanzō. Will I live long enough to do that? That remains to be seen.”
Yuki’s Revenge has opened Tarantino’s mind to more animated projects. One of his ideas involves two of his most famous criminals.
“I could see some world between this and Japanese anime that I could find some happy medium, or, you know, between the things that I couldn’t physically do, like say the Vega Brothers movie, or something like that,” Tarantino added.
Tarantino has been teasing a Vega Brothers movie since the 1990s. Michael Madsen played Vic Vega, aka Mr. Blonde, in Reservoir Dogs, while John Travolta starred as Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction. The Vega Brothers movie never happened, and unfortunately, Madsen died earlier this year. However, an animated film could be the solution to bringing Tarantino’s idea to life.
Up next for Tarantino is Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, which combines Kill Bill: Volume 1 and Kill Bill: Volume 2 into a single movie. The Whole Bloody Affair will be released on December 5, 2025.
