Harry Potter Star Joins Ti West’s Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol Cast

Harry Potter alum Rupert Grint has entered negotiations to join the cast of Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol, which is the latest film adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic 1843 novella. The project hails from director Ti West, who is best known for directing A24’s Mia Goth-led horror movies X, Pearl, and MaXXXine.

Who is Rupert Grint playing in Ti West’s Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol movie?

According to Nexus Point News, Grint is currently in talks to portray the role of Bob Cratchit, who’s described as Ebenezer Scrooge’s overworked employee. Should his deal push through, this would mark Grint’s first movie in a while, after previously starring in 2023’s Knock at the Cabin movie.

Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol will be led by Johnny Depp as Scrooge, Andrea Riseborough as the Ghost of Christmas Past, Tramell Tillman as the Ghost of Christmas Present, and Ian McKellan as Jacob Marley. Ti West is directing the movie from a screenplay written by Nathaniel Halpern. Further details about how the movie will be different from other adaptations are still under wraps. Production is expected to begin this January 2026 in London.

The original 1843 Charles Dickens novella is considered one of the most iconic stories ever written. It has been adapted multiple times throughout the years. Some of the famous adaptations include the 1970 musical adaptation Scrooge, the 1984 version with George C. Scott, the 2009 film starring Jim Carrey, and 1992’s The Muppet Christmas Carol.

The movie is set to arrive in theaters on November 13, 2026.
