Supergirl Budget Revealed for Milly Alcock DCU Movie
The budget for the Supergirl DCU movie has been revealed.
DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures’ Supergirl arrives in United States theaters next summer. Directed by Craig Gillespie, the film will see Milly Alcock play the titular superhero, while Matthias Schoenaerts stars as Krem of the Yellow Hills.
What is the budget for the Supergirl DCU movie?
According to a recent report from Forbes, Supergirl has a $200 million budget. That’s slightly below James Gunn’s Superman movie, as that reportedly had a budget of $225 million.
How Supergirl does at the box office remains to be seen. Superman made a good chunk of money, as it collected approximately $616.7 million globally while also going up against some heavy competition from Jurassic World Rebirth and The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Supergirl is being released the week after Toy Story 5 and just a couple of days before Minions 3, meaning all bets are off when it comes to how much it’s able to rake in.
In addition to Alcock and Schoenaerts, the cast of Supergirl includes Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze, Jason Momoa as Lobo, and Ferdinand Kingsley as Elias Knoll.
The film is based on the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic miniseries by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. The solicitation for the first issue of that series reads, “Kara Zor-El has seen some epic adventures over the years, but finds her life without meaning or purpose. Here she is, a young woman who saw her planet destroyed and was sent to Earth to protect a baby cousin who ended up not needing her. What was it all for? Wherever she goes, people only see her through the lens of Superman’s fame. Just when Supergirl thinks she’s had enough, everything changes. An alien girl seeks her out for a vicious mission. Her world has been destroyed, and the bad guys responsible are still out there. She wants revenge, and if Supergirl doesn’t help her, she’ll do it herself, whatever the cost. Now a Kryptonian, a dog, and an angry, heartbroken child head out into space on a journey that will shake them to their very core.”
Supergirl arrives on June 26, 2026.
