ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive trailer for A Town Called Purgatory, previewing the upcoming horror Western movie about a duo that finds themselves in a haunted town. A Town Called Purgatory is set to release on video-on-demand services on December 9, 2025.
“The film takes place in the aftermath of the Civil War as Beau Riffen joins forces with Cody Parnum to apprehend a band of notorious train robbers,” reads the official synopsis of the film. “The duo is led to a town deserted town called Purgatory, where they find themselves haunted (and hunted) by a skin-walker. Alongside the town’s few other residents, their trust in one another is tested as they all become locked in gripping fight for survival.”

What happens in the A Town Called Purgatory trailer?
The trailer follows the duo of Beau Riffen and Cody Parnum, two men tasked with trying to track down train robbers. The pair are led into the scary town of Purgatory, however, and quickly find out they are being hunted by a mysterious and terrifying creature.
A Town Called Purgatory is directed by Matt Servitto, from a script written by Dan De Luca and Ken Arnold. The film also stars De Luca, Arnold, and Servitto, alongside Jeff Ricketts, Kevin Jiggets, and Maria Lohn. De Luca, Arnold, Servitto, and Frederick Füssel all produce the film. A Town Called Purgatory had an award-winning run across various festivals, earning prizes at places like Creature Feature Weekend, FirstGlance Film Festival, Terror in the Bay Film Festival, Garden State Film Festival, and more.
