Zootopia 3 Gets Promising Update After Sequel’s Success

Zootopia 2 hit theaters on November 26, 2025, and it already seems to be a success at the box office. With fans eager to know whether the franchise will expand to a third installment, a post-credits scene might have set the stage for the same. Meanwhile, during a recent interview, lead cast members Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman spoke about the possibility of a Zootopia 3.

Ginnifer Goodwin doesn’t think Zootopia 3 would take as long as Part 2

Almost a decade after the release of Zootopia in 2015, the franchise returned with a sequel. The film continues to follow detectives Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, who, this time, set out to solve a case involving a reptile who causes havoc in the mammal metropolis of Zootopia.

Meanwhile, Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman, who play Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde respectively, opened up about Zooptopia 3 during a recent interview with Collider. When asked by the outlet about Judy and Nick’s dynamic, Goodwin said, “I feel like they learn, at the end, that they should love each other for exactly who they are.”

“And that they really can benefit from one another,” Bateman added. “They’re starting to really like each other a lot, at least my character is starting to change a bit for the better. Judy doesn’t need a lot of changing.” Then as Goodwin praised her character saying, “Yeah, she’s pretty perfect,” Bateman remarked, “So, I don’t know where [Zootopia] 3 would go if we were lucky enough to do a third.”

Further, as the interviewer mentioned the decade-long wait for Zootopia 2 as well as the post-credits scene at the end of the film, both actors said, “She saw the tease.” Goodwin then agreeing with the interviewer about doing a third film immediately, said, “I agree. I don’t think it would be as long.”

The actress continued, “Hopefully. I don’t know. We’re getting up there.” Bateman then asked Goodwin whether by “long” she meant the run time or the wait to do the film, to which Goodwin replied saying, “No, no, no, no, the wait to do the next one. I don’t know how much older they’d want us to be getting. I mean, we look amazing.”
