Supergirl DCU Movie Adds Reacher Star to Cast
Supergirl has added a Reacher star to its cast.
DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures’ Supergirl arrives in United States theaters next year. Directed by Craig Gillespie, the DCU movie stars Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl, Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, and Jason Momoa as Lobo.
Who has joined the cast of Supergirl?
Ferdinand Kingsley has been cast as Ruthye’s father, Elias Knoll, in Supergirl. This has been announced on Kingsley’s CV, which is featured on talent agency Conway Van Gelder Grant’s website.
Kingsley is known for playing Hob Gadling in Netflix’s The Sandman, George Wilkins in Apple TV+’s Silo, and A.M. in the second season of Prime Video’s Reacher. His filmography includes 2007’s The Last Legion, 2014’s Dracula Untold, and 2020’s Mank, while he’s also appeared in television shows such as Victoria, Still Star-Crossed, Doctor Who, and more.

Supergirl is an adaptation of Tom King and Bilquis Evelyn’s Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow miniseries. If the movie proves to be a faithful adaptation, Kingsley’s character likely won’t be featured in the movie too much, as his death is what motivates young Ruthye to seek revenge on Krem of the Yellow Hills; however, he plays an important role in the story, and the movie could also expand his part through flashbacks or some other method.
“Kara Zor-El has seen some epic adventures over the years, but finds her life without meaning or purpose,” the solicitation for the first issue of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow reads. “Here she is, a young woman who saw her planet destroyed and was sent to Earth to protect a baby cousin who ended up not needing her. What was it all for? Wherever she goes, people only see her through the lens of Superman’s fame. Just when Supergirl thinks she’s had enough, everything changes. An alien girl seeks her out for a vicious mission. Her world has been destroyed, and the bad guys responsible are still out there. She wants revenge, and if Supergirl doesn’t help her, she’ll do it herself, whatever the cost. Now a Kryptonian, a dog, and an angry, heartbroken child head out into space on a journey that will shake them to their very core.”
Supergirl will be released on June 26, 2026.
