Assassin’s Creed Netflix Show Casts Euphoria Star in Lead Role
Netflix has finally unveiled the first cast member of its highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed series, based on Ubisoft’s best-selling video game series. This comes four months after the live-action adaptation received an official series order from the streamer.
Who is joining the Assassin’s Creed TV show?
Toby Wallace (The Bikeriders, Babyteeth) has been tapped for a series regular role in the Assassin’s Creed TV show. Further details about his character are still under wraps, but Deadline claimed that he would be playing one of the leading roles in the high-octane action thriller. This marks Wallace’s reunion project with the streamer, six years after starring in the mystery teen show The Society. Before starring in the live-action adaptation, he will first be seen in HBO’s Euphoria Season 3.
“The story is centered on the secret war between two shadowy factions — one set on determining mankind’s future through control and manipulation, the other fighting to preserve free will. The series will follow its characters across pivotal historical events as they battle to shape humanity’s destiny,” reads the official synopsis.
The Assassin’s Creed show will be executive-produced by showrunners Roberto Patino and David Wiener, along with Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, Austin Dill, and Genevieve Jones from Ubisoft Film & Television and Matt O’Toole. Production is expected to begin in 2026 and will reportedly take place in Italy.
Since its debut in 2007, the video game franchise has sold more than 230 million units worldwide. This won’t be the first time Assassin’s Creed has received a live-action adaptation, as Sony Pictures previously adapted it for the big screen in 2016 with Michael Fassbender leading the cast.
