Tron: Ares Digital & Physical Release Dates Set for Disney Movie
Disney has announced the digital, 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD release dates for Tron: Ares, the latest sequel to the long-running sci-fi action franchise. This comes nearly two months after the Jared Leto-led movie was released in theaters, where it didn’t perform well at the box office. It only earned a worldwide gross of $142 million against a budget of around $180-220 million.
“Get ready for the electrifying action and adventure of Tron: Ares. When a highly sophisticated Program named Ares is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, it marks humankind’s first encounter with AI beings,” reads the movie’s official synopsis.
When can you own Tron: Ares?
Tron: Ares will be available to rent or own on digital platforms starting on December 2, 2025. It will then release on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on January 6, 2026.
Disney is also releasing a limited-edition SteelBook featuring custom artwork and packaging that evokes the franchise’s glow, speed, and high-tech aesthetic. In addition, the Tron franchise will be getting a 3-Movie Collection, which includes the 1982 classic, Tron: Legacy, and Tron: Ares.

Joachim Rønning directed Tron: Ares from a screenplay written by Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne. The ensemble cast includes Jodie Turner-Smith, Greta Lee, Gillian Anderson, Evan Peters, Cameron Monaghan, and Sarah Desjardins. It also features franchise vet Jeff Bridges, who reprised his role as Kevin Flynn, over a decade after appearing in Tron: Legacy. Despite its low Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the movie still received a Popcornmeter score of 85%.
