Marty Supreme Release Date Moves Up for 70MM Showings of Timothée Chalamet Movie
A24 has moved up the release date for special 70mm showings of Marty Supreme, the upcoming sports drama starring Timothée Chalamet.
Where and when can you see Marty Supreme in 70mm?
As first reported by Deadline, Marty Supreme will be shown in 70 mm in New York City and Los Angeles on December 18, 2025, one week before its nationwide release on Christmas Day. A24 will offer additional 70 mm screenings in select cities on December 25, 2025.
Cinematographer Darius Khondji shot Marty Supreme on 35 mm using Arriflex cameras and vintage anamorphic lenses. The 70 mm release “transforms that 35 mm imagery into a more immersive, larger-scale experience.”
Customers who purchase tickets to the 70 mm showings will receive an exclusive limited-edition Marty Supreme poster and a set of official Marty Supreme Championship table tennis balls.
Chalamet stars as Marty Mauser, “a young man with a dream no one respects,” who “goes to hell and back in pursuit of greatness.”
Marty Supreme’s cast includes Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A’zion, Kevin O’Leary, Tyler Okonma, Abel Ferrara, Fran Drescher, Luke Manley, and Koto Kawaguchi.
Josh Safdie directs Marty Supreme from a screenplay he co-wrote with Ronald Bronstein. Marty Supreme is Safdie’s first feature that he directed without his brother Benny since 2008’s The Pleasure of Being Robbed.
Producers include Chalamet, Safdie, Bronstein, Eli Bush, and Anthony Katagas. Marty Supreme is A24’s most expensive movie to date, with an estimated budget of $70 million.
Marty Supreme premiered at the 2025 New York Film Festival to a positive reception. Many critics in attendance praised Chalamet, with some calling it a career-best performance. Chalamet is in line to receive his third Oscar nomination for Best Actor, with many pundits naming him a frontrunner to win. Marty Supreme will also play a factor in other Oscar categories, including Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay.
