Billie Eilish concert doc’s theatrical release date announced
Billie Eilish has officially confirmed the release date for her upcoming concert documentary. In an Instagram post, the Grammy-winning artist announced that the film will arrive in cinemas worldwide on March 20, 2026.
Posting a new image with filmmaker James Cameron, Eilish wrote, “HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR (LIVE IN 3D) coming to theatres on march 20th 2026 !!!!” She added, “This has been one of my favorite tours everrrrrr and being able to capture it and co-direct this film with @jamescameronofficial has truly been a dream come true. can’t wait for you all to see it.” The announcement comes after the final night of her sold-out Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour stop in San Francisco.
The feature, titled Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D), will be distributed globally by Paramount Pictures in association with Darkroom Records, Interscope Films, and Lightstorm Entertainment. Presented in 3D, the project is co-directed by Eilish and Cameron, whose most recent work includes Avatar: Fire and Ash.
The documentary will show performances recorded during Eilish’s extensive 2024–25 world tour, which supported her third studio album Hit Me Hard and Soft. The album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and generated the top-10 single “Lunch.”
Eilish first referenced the documentary during a sold-out performance in Manchester earlier in the year. At the time, Eilish informed the crowd that more cameras than usual had been placed throughout the venue. She said this was because a special project was being shot. She told audiences she could not reveal full details, but confirmed that it was a 3D collaboration with Cameron.
