Return to Silent Hill Trailer: Wednesday’s Evie Templeton Stars in Horror Movie
Cineverse has shared the official trailer for Return to Silent Hill, the newest film adaptation of Konami’s popular horror video game series. The psychological horror movie is slated to arrive in theaters on January 23, 2026.
“The film will follow James, a man broken after being separated from his one true love,” reads the synopsis. “When a mysterious letter calls him back to Silent Hill in search of her, he finds a once-recognizable town transformed by an unknown evil. As James descends deeper into the darkness, he encounters terrifying figures both familiar and new and begins to question his own sanity as he struggles to make sense of reality and hold on long enough to save his lost love.”

What happens in the Return to Silent Hill trailer?
The video introduces Jeremy Irvine (Great Expectations) as he brings to life the character of James Sunderland, who is the main protagonist of the 2001 video game Silent Hill 2. It highlights his perilous journey into Silent Hill in hopes of finding his beloved wife. However, along the way, he must avoid getting killed by the terrifying monsters residing in the sinister town.
The trailer also features Wednesday breakout star Evie Templeton as Laura, an orphaned girl who will guide James through his journey in Silent Hill. Before this, Templeton first played Laura in the Silent Hill 2 game remake, where she not only voiced the character but also performed motion capture.
Return to Silent Hill is directed by French filmmaker Christophe Gans, who previously helmed the first live-action adaptation of Silent Hill in 2006. The movie also stars Hannah Emily Anderson, Robert Strange, Pearse Egan, Emily Carding, Martine Richards, and more. It was penned by Gans, Sandra Vo-Anh, and William Josef Schneider. Executive producers are Jonathan Bross, Paul W. Hazen, Joe Neurauter, Joe Simpson, Lorna Soonhee, Jay Taylor, and Simon Williams.
