Director Jalmari Helander has addressed the possibility of Sisu 3. The director has clarified where the Sisu franchise stands after the release of Sisu: Road to Revenge. As Sisu: Road to Revenge prepares for its U.S. release, Finnish filmmaker Jalmari Helander is already facing questions about next installment.

In a recent conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, the director acknowledged that he has considered a third chapter. However, he also views the latest film as a powerful conclusion. Talking about the sequel, Helander said, “I have some ideas. I also think that [Sisu: Road to Revenge] is a pretty beautiful ending to the story, but let’s see what happen.”

His comments are similar to earlier remarks made to MovieWeb, where he described the film’s conclusion as both “an ending and a rebirth.” Though the sequel ends on what he described as “a perfect conclusion,” he acknowledged the possibility that Aatami’s life could once again be disrupted.

The filmmaker added, “Like, maybe Aatomi may have found something that whatever piece or purpose he could have anymore, maybe that’s their thing, but I don’t know, maybe trouble finds him again.”

The Sisu franchise follows Aatami Korpi, portrayed by Jorma Tommila, a former Finnish commando whose peaceful life is disrupted by violence. The first film followed his battle against Nazi forces after they seized his gold.

Meanwhile, Road to Revenge resumes immediately afterward. It places Aatami on a dangerous pursuit of the Red Army commander responsible for his family’s death. The sequel features Tommila alongside Stephen Lang and Richard Brake.

Sisu: Road to Revenge opens in U.S. theaters on November 21, 2025.
