The Odyssey Photos Offer Best Look at Robert Pattinson & Zendaya

Newly released photos from Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey provide the clearest glimpse yet of Robert Pattinson and Zendaya on set. The images reveal key details about their characters and the film’s visual style. Fans are getting their first substantial look at the stars in action ahead of the movie’s 2026 release.

New photos of Robert Pattinson and Zendaya from The Odyssey

Robert Pattinson appeared in new images from Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey as Antinous, identified by @pattinsonphotos as “one of the many suitors vying for Penelope (Anne Hathaway), Odysseus’ wife.” The post also noted that this is Pattinson’s second collaboration with Nolan after Tenet.

Separate behind the scenes photos shared by @he4vensnight showed Zendaya on set as Athena alongside Matt Damon as Odysseus. These images marked the first public look at both characters on the film’s shooting locations.

Additional context was provided in early coverage from Empire, which confirmed Pattinson’s role as Antinous and Zendaya’s role as Athena, described as the goddess who guides Odysseus through his journey.

Empire also published first look stills of Anne Hathaway as Penelope, Tom Holland as Telemachus, and Mia Goth as Melantho. John Leguizamo appeared in heavy makeup as Eumaeus, the loyal swineherd who assists Odysseus upon his return to Ithaca.

The cast includes Matt Damon as Odysseus, Tom Holland as Telemachus, Anne Hathaway as Penelope, Zendaya as Athena, and Robert Pattinson as Antinous. John Leguizamo appears as Eumaeus, with Mia Goth as Melantho and Himesh Patel as a shipmate.

Jon Bernthal, Samantha Morton, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, and Benny Safdie round out the ensemble. Elliot Page, Bill Irwin, and Corey Hawkins also appear, with some roles still undisclosed.

Production used newly engineered IMAX equipment that allowed close range sound recording. Christopher Nolan said in an interview with Empire, “You can be shooting a foot from an actor’s face while they are whispering and get usable sound.” Hoyte van Hoytema explained that he tested the new system by filming a child reading David Bowie’s Sound And Vision. Nolan stated the results were “electrifying.”

Empire reported viewing a five-minute sequence that began with the line, “You hear the story of the horse?” followed by a depiction of the fall of Troy, concluding with a brief shot of a Cyclops.

Universal will release The Odyssey on July 17, 2026.
