Zack Snyder posts new photo of Jackie Earle Haley from Watchmen
Zack Snyder recently shared a portrait of Jackie Earle Haley from his 2009 film Watchmen. It offers a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse at the actor’s transformation into Rorschach. The image, shared on Instagram, is a black-and-white shot featuring Haley in character and holding a board. In the caption, Snyder wrote, “4×5 polaroid Jackie Earle Haley.” Fans quickly flooded the comment section with admiration.
Haley’s portrayal of Rorschach in Watchmen became one of the widely recognized performances of his career. Previously, the actor spoke about the experience, saying, “It has all been a pinch-yourself experience, but I was absolutely flabbergasted when Zack called and offered me this part.” (via The Georgia Straight)
In addition to reflecting on his time in the film, Haley has also addressed the absence of a sequel. In a conversation with CinemaBlend earlier, he said, “I wish they would have gone on. You know, I think they probably would have gone on and done more films with Watchmen, different versions of it, because I think there was enough success that they could have gone back in time or done something with it.” The actor also explained that rights complications between Warner Bros. and Paramount prevented the studio from expanding the property.
The photo joins a series of behind-the-scenes shots Snyder has unveiled from his earlier work within the DC franchise. His recent posts have included pictures of Henry Cavill as Superman, images from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Ben Affleck as Batman.
