Boogie Nights 4K Release Date Set for Acclaimed Mark Wahlberg Movie

Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment has announced the 4K release date for Boogie Nights, the critically acclaimed comedy-drama led by Mark Wahlberg. Since it was released in 1997, the movie has maintained its Certified Fresh score of 91% on Rotten Tomatoes. It also received three Oscar nominations, including Best Original Screenplay, Best Supporting Actress for Julianne Moore, and Best Supporting Actor for Burt Reynolds.

“In the San Fernando Valley in 1977, teenage busboy Eddie Adams gets discovered by porn director Jack Horner, who transforms him into adult-film sensation Dirk Diggler,” reads the synopsis. “Brought into a supportive circle of friends, including fellow actors Amber Waves, Rollergirl, and Reed Rothchild, Dirk fulfills all his ambitions, but a toxic combination of drugs and egotism threatens to take him back down.”

When is the Boogie Nights 4K release date?

For the first time, Boogie Nights will finally be available for purchase on 4K Ultra HD and on 4K UHD Blu-ray Disc, starting on December 16. The 4K release will also feature new bonus content, including the American Cinematheque panel with director Paul Thomas Anderson and John C. Reilly.

The movie was written and directed by Anderson. This also served as his second directorial effort. The ensemble cast also includes Julianne Moore as Maggie/Amber Waves, Burt Reynolds as Jack Horner, Don Cheadle as Buck Swope, John C. Reilly as Reed Rothchild, William H. Macy as Little Bill, Heather Graham as Brandy/Rollergirl, Nicole Ari Parker as Becky, and Philip Seymour Hoffman as Scotty J. It was produced by Lloyd Levin, John Lyons, Anderson, and JoAnne Sellar.
