Daniel Craig’s Knives Out 4 Gets Exciting Update Ahead of Wake Up Dead Man
Ahead of Wake Up Dead Man’s highly anticipated premiere, acclaimed filmmaker Rian Johnson has shared an update regarding the future of Netflix’s Knives Out franchise.
Since the first installment made its debut in 2019, the Daniel Craig-led murder mystery franchise has remained a hit among critics and audiences alike. After its world premiere at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery has already received a Certified Fresh score of 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 93 reviews.
What’s the new update for Knives Out 4?
During a recent interview with THR, Johnson confirmed that he and Craig are already discussing what’s next for Detective Benoit Blanc in Knives Out 4. He also expressed his commitment to continuing to make movies for the franchise because of how much he enjoys crafting new Benoit Blanc stories with a different set of actors.
“Creatively, I feel energized after making this one,” Johnson said. “Daniel and I are already starting to formulate . . . what could the next one be if we do another one?”
He added, “I don’t know why I would stop doing it if we could keep making them.”
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery is once again written and directed by Johnson. The latest entry also stars Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack, and Thomas Haden Church. Johnson is also producing the project alongside Ram Bergman. The creative team consists of cinematographer Steve Yedlin, editor Bob Ducsay, composer Nathan Johnson, production designer Rick Heinrichs, and costume designer Jenny Eagan.
The movie will arrive in theaters on November 26, followed by its Netflix premiere on December 12.
