Julia Roberts’ 2025 Box Office Bomb Gets Prime Video Streaming Date
Amazon MGM Studios has announced the Prime Video streaming date for After the Hunt, a psychological thriller starring Julia Roberts.

After the Hunt begins streaming exclusively on Prime Video on November 20, 2025.
After the Hunt stars Roberts as Alma Imhoff, a renowned professor at Yale; Ayo Edebiri as Maggie Resnick, an intelligent student and Alma’s star protégée; Andrew Garfield as Hank Gibson, Alma’s colleague and friend who is accused of sexual assault; Michael Stuhlbarg as Frederik Mendelssohn, Alma’s husband; and Chloë Sevigny as Dr. Kim Sayers, Alma’s friend and Yale’s student liaison.
“After the Hunt is a gripping psychological drama about a college professor (Roberts) who finds herself at a personal and professional crossroads when a star student (Edebiri) levels an accusation against one of her colleagues (Garfield),” the official synopsis reads. “Faced with the blurred lines between morality and power dynamics, a dark secret from her own past threatens to come into the light.”
Luca Guadagnino directed After the Hunt from a screenplay by Nora Garrett. Guadagnino produces alongside Brian Grazer, Jeb Brody, and Allan Mandelbaum. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross scored the film.
After the Hunt premiered at the Venice Film Festival in August and received a theatrical release in the fall. With an acclaimed cast and a well-respected director, After the Hunt was positioned as an awards play by Amazon MGM Studios.
After the Hunt opened in limited release on October 10, 2025. It received poor reviews from critics and has a 38% on Rotten Tomatoes. The film is considered a box-office bomb with a domestic gross of $3.2 million and a worldwide haul of $9.1 million. After the Hunt reportedly cost $70 million to produce, with Roberts earning a $20 million payday for her participation.
