Now You See Me 3 Director on if Mark Ruffalo Will Return in Part 4
With Now You See Me 3 in theaters, director Ruben Fleischer has finally weighed in on the future of Mark Ruffalo’s Dylan Rhodes. The filmmaker addressed whether Ruffalo is expected to return for the next installment.

Ruben Fleischer reveals how Mark Ruffalo’s Now You See Me 3 cameo happened
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ruben Fleischer clarified how Mark Ruffalo ultimately appears in Now You See Me 3, despite not being available for the film’s shoot.
The movie concludes with a holographic message from Ruffalo’s character, Dylan Rhodes, addressed to both the original Horsemen and the newer team members. In the recording, Dylan reveals that he was never imprisoned in Russia after the failed operation a decade earlier. Instead, he allowed the group to believe the story as a way to reunite them, and introduced the next assignment.
Fleischer recalls that Ruffalo was originally unavailable for the third installment. Ruffalo’s addition only became possible during the project’s summer reshoots, as he was not available during filming.
The director explained, “Luckily, at that time, he was available to be shot on greenscreen independent of our shoot, but still, we managed to get him in there. Obviously, we would have preferred him to be knocking on the door and coming into the scene [at the end in person], but he is a busy man, and the hologram version of Dylan was one that I was more than happy to accept.”
Fleischer on if Mark Ruffalo’s Dylan will be in Now You See Me 4
Ruben Fleischer says Mark Ruffalo’s character, Dylan Rhodes, is expected to have a larger screen time in the fourth installment. However, that will depend entirely on the actor’s schedule. According to the director, Dylan “will play a bigger role in the next adventure, pending Mark Ruffalo’s schedule.”
The director added, ”Unfortunately, he’s a very busy guy… so we’ll see about Mark Ruffalo’s availability. But my hope for the movie would certainly be to have more Dylan in the film.”
Talking about Now You See Me 4, Fleischer confirms that development is already underway. He said, “We have a really, really fun adventure plan for them that we’re still in the writing process on.”
