Star Wars’ John Boyega on if Finn & Oscar Isaac’s Poe Will Ever Return
John Boyega is keeping the spark of hope alive for Star Wars fans who still want to see Finn and Poe Dameron back in action together. While he isn’t opposed to a reunion with Oscar Isaac, Boyega has one condition. However, his comments come as Isaac recently voiced his hesitation about working with Disney.

John Boyega, who played Finn across The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker, recently opened up about what it would take for him to step back into Star Wars at the Liverpool Comic Con. For him, Finn and Poe’s dynamic deserves theatrical scale.
“Me and Oscar are very stubborn and we believe the bromance should only be on the big screen,” Boyega said, making it clear that a streaming return isn’t on his mind. He also voiced interest in bringing back Joonas Suotamo, who played Chewbacca in multiple films, if a new project moves forward.
As he added, “It has to be a movie and obviously a great script. And I already spoke to Joonas today and said Joonas, you must join Poe and Finn on their adventure. So if I get those combinations, who knows.”
While Boyega sounds ready for a return, Oscar Isaac’s situation remains more complicated. The actor recently suggested he could revisit Star Wars or Marvel in the future, but not under the current circumstances involving Disney. This came after Disney suspended Jimmy Kimmel over comments made on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
“Yeah. I mean, I’d be open to it, although right now I’m not so open to working with Disney,” Isaac said. “But if they can kinda figure it out and, you know, not succumb to fascism, that would be great.” Isaac also addressed his 2020 remark about returning as Poe if he “needed another house,” adding, “Yeah. That was a real likable quote. Jesus Christ… I said a slightly dickish thing.”
All in all, between Boyega’s enthusiasm and Isaac’s conditional openness, a Finn and Poe reunion could be a possibility.
