Predator: Badlands’ 2nd Weekend Box Office Succumbs to Competition

With Predator: Badlands entering its second weekend, its box office performance has become a key focus among industry observers. The film’s follow up numbers drew attention after its strong debut frame. Its sharp weekend decline also raised interest in how it stacks against other major titles now in release. The movie is being tracked closely as its early results shape expectations for the weeks ahead.

Predator: Badlands’ second weekend box office drops by almost 68%

Predator: Badlands recorded a steep second weekend decline, falling by almost 68 percent to a $13 million three day total (via Box Office Mojo). The film is placed third behind Now You See Me: Now You Don’t and The Running Man and reached a cumulative domestic gross of $66.3 million by the end of its second frame. Daily figures show $3.5 million on Friday, $5.6 million on Saturday and $3.9 million on Sunday.

Industry data shows the film opened to $40,016,853 at 3,725 theaters. Studio reports list a global total of $136.3 million, including $70 million from international markets. The drop followed a $53.2 million first week. Reports noted that the decline was larger than expected and said observers believed word of mouth could have supported a steadier second weekend.

Rival releases reportedly affected the rankings. Now You See Me: Now You Don’t led with $21.3 million and reached $75.5 million worldwide. The Running Man opened with $17 million, earning $6.5 million on Friday, $6.1 million on Saturday and $4.4 million on Sunday.

Other titles added context to the wider market. Regretting You earned $4 million in its fourth weekend and lifted its total to $44.9 million. Black Phone 2 collected $2.65 million in weekend five for a cumulative $74.6 million. Keeper opened at $2.5 million. Chainsaw Man recorded a $1.6 million frame and moved to $41.2 million overall (via Deadline).

Analysts pointed to the mid November corridor as a strong period for franchise titles. They cited the second weekend of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and the opening of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes as recent examples.

Forecasts indicated that attention would now shift to Universal’s Wicked: For Good. Early projections placed the new release well ahead of last year’s first chapter.
