Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair Runtime Is Much Longer Than Expected

Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair will be even longer than fans expected.

Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair combines Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and Kill Bill: Vol. 2. The Kill Bill movies were originally conceived and filmed as a single feature film; however, they were split into two parts during the editing process to avoid a four-hour-plus runtime. Vol. 1 was originally released in October 2003, while Vol. 2 came out in April 2004.

Lionsgate is putting out The Whole Bloody Affair in theaters next month. The release will include presentations in 70mm and 35mm.

How long is Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair?

Per AMC Theatres, the runtime for The Whole Bloody Affair is 4 hours and 41 minutes.

Kill Bill: Vol. 1 has a runtime of 1 hour and 51 minutes, and Kill Bill: Vol. 2 clocks in at 2 hours and 17 minutes. It’s known that The Bloody Affair will have a 15-minute intermission and a 7.5 animated sequence; however, that still means there are 11 minutes that are unaccounted for. 

Additionally, Variety reported that The Whole Bloody Affair “removes the cliffhanger ending from Kill Bill Vol. 1 and the recap opener of Kill Bill Vol. 2,” meaning there could actually be more than 11 minutes of unaccounted for footage.

“Tarantino’s Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair unites Volume 1 and Volume 2 into a single, unrated epic — presented exactly as he intended, complete with a new, never-before-seen anime sequence,” a description of the film reads. “Uma Thurman stars as The Bride, left for dead after her former boss and lover Bill ambushes her wedding rehearsal, shooting her in the head and stealing her unborn child. To exact her vengeance, she must first hunt down the four remaining members of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad before confronting Bill himself. The Whole Bloody Affair will be released on December 5, 2025.
