Tom Ford’s New Movie Gets Star-Studded Cast, Includes Adele’s Film Debut
The cast of Tom Ford’s new movie has been announced, and one of the cast members will be Adele in her feature film debut. Ford will write and direct Cry To Heaven, an adaptation of an Anne Rice novel.

Cry To Heaven’s star-studded cast includes Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Adele, Ciarán Hinds, George MacKay, Mark Strong, Colin Firth, Paul Bettany, Owen Cooper, Daniel Quinn-Toye, Hunter Schafer, Josephine Thiesen, Thandiwe Newton, Theodore Pellerin, Daryl McCormack, Cassian Bilton, Hauk Hannemann, and Lux Pascal.
Rice’s novel has been described as a story of music and vengeance set in eighteenth-century Italy. The novel follows two castrated men who fight to succeed in the world of opera. Cry To Heaven touches on themes of “identity, betrayal, love, and the pursuit of artistic and personal freedom.”
The film is currently in pre-production in London and Rome. Filming is scheduled to begin in mid-January for a release in the fall of 2026. Ford will produce through his Fade To Black banner.
Ford is best known in the fashion world as the architect of the Tom Ford brand, which was sold to The Estée Lauder Companies for $2.8 billion in 2023.
Ford has penned and directed two films: 2009’s A Single Man and 2016’s Nocturnal Animals. A Single Man starred Firth as a gay college professor struggling to cope with the death of his lover. Firth garnered significant critical acclaim for his performance and received an Oscar nomination for Best Actor.
Nocturnal Animals is a psychological thriller about an art gallery owner forced to examine her past mistakes while reading the manuscript of her ex-husband. Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal, Taylor-Johnson, and Michael Shannon headlined the cast. Taylor-Johnson won a Golden Globe for supporting actor, while Shannon received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
