The project marks the return of director William Brent Bell, who previously helmed the 2022 prequel Orphan: First Kill. Cinematographer Maxime Alexander is named as the director of photography. Meanwhile, Isabelle Fuhrman is set to return as Esther.
According to the reported synopsis, Orphan 3 will follow a con artist who infiltrates a wealthy European household. However, her plan quickly unravels when someone threatens to reveal her true identity.
The third film’s development was confirmed in November 2024 by Dark Castle Entertainment, one year before production started. Speaking at the time, Norman Golightly said, “Dark Castle is excited to announce another terrifying chapter in the Orphan saga. With the past success of the first two movies and another thrilling storyline, we are confident that Orphan 3 will be a must-see for both longtime fans, and new fans alike.” (via Variety)

Orphans will also feature David Coggeshall as screenwriter and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick as executive producer. Lionsgate is handling international distribution. A theatrical release is expected in late 2026, though an exact date has yet to be announced.
