Robert Pattinson wants to play 17 again in another Twilight movie

Robert Pattinson, who rose to global fame for his portrayal of Edward Cullen in the Twilight saga, has expressed interest in returning to the role. The actor featured as a 17-year-old vampire across five films between 2008 and 2012 and recently hinted that he would be open to playing the character again.

While promoting his latest film, Die My Love, in which he stars alongside Jennifer Lawrence, Pattinson took part in Vanity Fair’s lie detector segment. During the lighthearted exchange, Lawrence asked, “If they were gonna direct a new Twilight, would you do it?” Pattinson responded without hesitation, saying, “Oh yeah, for sure.”

Lawrence appeared taken aback by his answer and jokingly said, “I don’t think you should, but okay.” The actor replied with a laugh, “It’d be great. I like taking jobs of younger actors…I wanna play 17 again.” Pattinson’s light-hearted comment was confirmed as truthful by the polygraph examiner.

Soon, fans quickly began speculating online about the possibility of a new Twilight installment or reboot. The franchise, based on Stephenie Meyer’s best-selling novels, became a major global hit. However, as of now, no new Twilight project has been announced.

Meanwhile, Pattinson continues to keep a busy schedule. In 2026, he is set to appear in three films: The Drama in April, The Odyssey in July, and Dune 3 in December. He will also reprise his role as Bruce Wayne in The Batman Part II, scheduled for release in 2027.
