New Photo of Jared Leto’s Joker Has Fans Wanting Justice League 2

Four years after the streaming debut of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Snyder continues to treat DCEU fans with never-before-seen photos from his director’s cut. Today, he has once again shared a new photo of Joker, which he captured with his 50mm dream lens Leica camera. Academy Award winner Jared Leto first played the DC villain in David Ayer’s 2016 movie Suicide Squad.

What is in Zack Snyder’s latest Justice League photo?

Posted on Instagram, the new Joker photo from Zack Snyder’s Justice League movie provides a new look at Leto’s Knightmare version of Joker. The Knightmare scene was the additional footage that Snyder filmed for the director’s cut. It featured an alternate future in which Darkseid succeeded with his plans of taking over Earth. The Knightmare timeline showed Ben Affleck’s Batman teaming up with Joker and Deathstroke against Superman, who has gone evil after Lois Lane’s death.

The new Joker photo also elicited reactions from fans, who continue to hope that Snyder would be given the chance to continue his vision for the DCEU with a Justice League sequel. In the post’s comment section, one fan expressed his wish to see more of the Knightmare timeline: “Would love love love to see the Knightmare pick up right where ZSJL left off.” Meanwhile, other fans are also hoping that they could see Leto’s Joker once again: “I want to see more of that Joker in your Knightmare environment just as badly as I wanna see him in the Ayer Cut.”

Zack Snyder’s Justice League starred Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, with J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, and Amy Adams as Lois Lane. The director’s cut reportedly cost around $70 million to finish the editing and visual effects of Snyder’s original vision, as well as for the additional photography.
