Haddish confirmed, “We had a meeting last week. I’m telling it. They were saying we [are] gonna start shooting probably next year.” According to her, production could start in the spring of 2026, “before summer starts.”
Expressing her excitement about reuniting with her co-stars, Haddish said, “She ready.” The actress added, “I think it’s gonna be great. I think it’s going to be so much fun. Me and the girls were all talking. It was so funny, it was so good.”
The original Girls Trip garnered significant attention in 2017, grossing about $140 million worldwide. Directed by Malcolm D. Lee, the film follows four close friends as they reconnect during a wild trip to New Orleans. The cast includes Haddish, Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, and Jada Pinkett Smith.
Producer Will Packer had previously confirmed that a sequel has been in development. Packer said, “Girls Trip is happening. Girls Trip 2. Bringing back all the ladies. And we’re going to add maybe some new ladies.”
